Dianetics Booksellers Hit Streets of Toronto

Toronto, 24 January 2006:
This past Saturday, members of the Church of Scientology hit the streets to get the good word of "Dianetics: The Modern Science of Mental Health" out into the hands of the people of Toronto. Dozens of Toronto Scientologists participated in the effort to see how many Dianetics books could be sold in Toronto in one day.

All around the city, colourful Dianetics stress tables were set up, manned by cheerful booksellers. Hundreds of Dianetics stress tests were given throughout the day.

"We wanted to get out there early," said Otto Wilkens, the Public Executive Secretary for the Toronto Day church. "Toronto has a long tradition of selling Dianetics books in quantity and we expect to get hundreds sold today."

Indeed they did. Starting early in the morning and ending late that night, a whopping 724 Dianetics books were sold throughout the day.

"It was a fantastic effort," says Niki Coleman, the Executive Director of the Toronto Foundation church. "There is nothing as satisfying as helping someone else discover what Dianetics can do for them. We are going to break a 1,000 next time we play this game."
